![]() ![]() ![]() In normal day-to-day use writes to modern SSDs, even lower end consumer SSDs, really isn't something to worry about, but depending on the project, running BOINC can be pretty write heavy. With only 25% free space on that drive- it's almost as good as being full. An added benefit beyond increased performance (marginal but real) and reduced IO load, is reducing writes to disk. So you will only be able to run 1 Python Task at a time, even though your CPU has 4 cores/threads.Īny recommendations?I'd suggest seeing if you can free up more disk space- In File Explorer, right click on the Disk, select Properties, General tab, DIsk clean-up, and Clean up system files. Check and adjust those values in order to actually let BOINC use the space you have allowed it with the "Use no more than" value.Īlso raised the memory allowance to 90% during use to solve the "Rosetta needs more memory" message from a few days ago.Ĥg ramPython Tasks need at least 3GB of RAM (even though they don't use nearly that much). You can give BOINC as much as you like by setting the "Use no more than" value- but BOINC can't use it if the other settings result in a lower value. Thats after raising it from the original 15 gig few days ago.You could set it to 500GB (if it were available), and it still wouldn't make any difference if your other disk settings result in less space actually being available.īOINC uses the most restrictive value. ![]() Raised my disc space from 25 to 35gig after this message. You currently have 11459.50 MB available and it needs 19073.49 MB.You are letting it have only 11.5GB, when it needs 19GB. This line points out exactly what the problem is. OK, I'm getting the same message, but you dont seem to have answered the original question, why the message from the Rosetta server saying needs more disc space?Because it needs more disk space. ![]()
